David M. Johnson, M.D.

David M. Johnson grew up in Charlotte and metro Atlanta. After graduating from Furman University with a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, he studied as a Fulbright scholar at the Technische Universitaet Chemnitz in Germany. He worked in laboratory and clinical research for several years, and earned his medical degree at Emory University, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society.

Dr. Johnson completed an ENT residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was mentored by internationally renowned experts in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. That preparation led to his position as a comprehensive otolaryngologist at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, where he practiced in Anchorage as well as at outreach clinics all over Alaska, from Kodiak to Utqiagvik (Barrow).

He is board-certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Outside of medicine, David has performed as a singer and woodwind player in contexts as diverse as twelfth-century “opera” through Broadway show bands and newly-written works for chamber chorus. He enjoys driving, solving crosswords, hiking, and reading.
